Grow in Faith, not Fear
Last week, I encouraged you, that as we come out of Lock Down, to set our minds on the things of God - not on the things of this earth. This week - I want to encourage us to grow in FAITH, not FEAR.
In Luke 12:4-7. Jesus warns us not to be afraid of the things that can kill the body - but to fear God. At the same time, he reminds us that God cares for us, and loves us. God knows the number of hairs on our head, and loves us enough to die on the cross for us.
The last two years has been full of fear for us. Fear of the virus. Fear of losing freedoms. Fear of vaccines. Fear for the life and safety of our friends.
Let's leave that fear behind. Remember, we are loved and protected by God himself. God cares for us, and God wants what's good for us.
Let's make the decision to grow in faith, not fear.
Welcome Jonno Dunn!
On Sunday, I was excited to announce that Jonno Dunn is joining us in 2022 and 2023 to be a Ministry Apprentice. A Ministry Apprentice is someone who is stepping aside from vocational work for two years to be an apprentice minister. The idea behind it is they will consider if they have the character, convictions and competencies to be a Pastor of God's people. Jonno will learn what it means to teach and lead God's people as he serves us at church.
I believe Jonno is the first Ministry Apprentice we have ever had.
It's a big step for Jonno AND Vanessa, and we need your help. There are three ways to help:
Come to the Supporters Afternoon Tea (Saturday 20th November, 2pm, at church)
Pray: Join the Prayer List
Financially support Jonno
As part of his training, Jonno needs to personally raise money to pay his salary (which means the money doesn't come from our church budget). He needs to raise $45,000 per year. Can you help? Even $25 a month will make a big difference.
