Covid Safety Plan

This week I am very happy to announce St James Berala and Lighthouse Church CoVid Safety plan.

Why a safety plan?  We want St James Berala to be - and known to be - the safest place in Berala.  Which makes sense right?  Not only do we love Berala and want people to be safe - but what better way to reflect the Lord's love than creating a safe place for all people?

An online version of the plan is available here:

However - let me just summarise by saying that it is now a condition of entry to our church property that every visitor (staff member, volunteer or guest):

  1. Have no symptoms associated with COVID19

  2. Have not been overseas in the previous 14 days or been ordered to self isolate.

  3. Have their contact details recorded

  4. Sanitises their hands.

  5. Wears a facemask.

  6. Has their temperature checked

Yes - this is pretty strict! But it's strict because we care for you, and we care for everyone.  Please do all you can to follow this plan.

I need to point out that we are taking this very seriously. If you won't comply with these requests, you will be asked to leave the premises.

It's also worth knowing our premises are now being cleaned twice a week, and after every meeting.

A couple of extra points:

  • As you now need to sign in, a member of staff will need to be on site before you visit.

  • If you don't have your own mask, one will be provided.

I am reminded that no masks or vaccine can protect us from death - our only true, lasting, eternal safety is found in Jesus Christ. The great words of the Apostle John comes to mind in 1 John 1:9:
9But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.

Financial Update
Thank you for your generous financial contribution to the ministry of the church.  We can only exist because of your donations, and without them, we would need to close.

Our July figures are:
Giving
:      $10,973
Budget:     $13,384
Shortfall:   $2,411

We were also short of our budget in June by about $1,400.

The good news is with the generous government CoVid help, we are currently doing well.  However, the Government assistance will stop at the end of September, and so this shortfall can't continue.

Please pray about the situation and if you haven't set up online giving - please do!  Details can be found here
